The theme is CAME BACK WRONG.

Send us stories and poems of regretful resurrections and recrudescences. They can be starkly realistic or horror-adjacent. That boyfriend/girlfriend you never should have gotten back together with? That home town you never should have gone back to? That zombie that keeps lurking outisde the Plaid Pantry?

We accept prose, poetry, and creative nonfiction of up to 2,000 words. HOCUS welcomes literary fiction and poetry submissions from everyone regardless of race, class, gender, sexuality, geography, religious or cultural background. Our programming is in English. We especially invite Black, Indigenous, and other people of color to take part. We recognize all genders.

The reading will be on Friday, October 30th at the Rose City Book Pub in NE Portland and chosen readers are responsible for getting themselves to the venue.
